Call for U.S. Ratification Delivered to Senate

Thank you!  In recognition of the 20th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26, 2010, USICD members and allies delivered a letter to Senators Kerry and Lugar of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, calling for their bipartisan leadership toward United States ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).

USICD Members Experience 'Music By Prudence!'

USICD Members and Friends Meet Prudence Mabhena and Roger Ross Williams

As a child, she was rejected.  Through music, she found acceptance.  Today, she is the star of an Oscar-winning documentary, "Music by Prudence" and an advocate for persons with disabilities.

USICD, Human Rights Watch, and the World Bank together welcomed the documentary's star and its director to Washington, DC, on May 6, 2010.

United States signs the CRPD

President Obama signs the order for the US to sign the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
