****Update from the UN/ Leonard Cheshire Disability-hosted international Conference on Disability-Inclusive MDGs and Aid Effectiveness (14-16 March)****

On its final day, the conference has called for development to become more disability inclusive, to meet the Millennium Development Goals

In her closing speech, Tanya Barron, Leonard Cheshire Disability’s International Director commented: “Throughout this conference, these words kept coming up; urgent, speeded up, now. We’ve had the Millennium Development Goals for twelve years, and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities for four. Now is the time for action.”
