Mainstreaming youth and adolescents with disabilities in development

A side-event was organized by the International Disability Alliance in collaboration with DESA during the 45th session of the UN Commission on Population and Development (23-27 April), which focused on “Adolescents and Youth”. The panel discussion entitled "Mainstreaming youth and adolescents with disabilities in the international development agenda", was held with a view to provide useful input to the Commission's deliberations and its recommendations, on how the inclusion of disability can help accelerate efforts towards achieving the objectives of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD, Cairo, 1994), as well as other internationally agreed development goals of the international development agenda. The event was sponsored by the Permanent Missions of Sweden and Croatia to the United Nations. More information: http://www.un.org/disabilities/default.asp?id=1599.
