Electronic Accessibility in India

October 3, 2013

Dear Friends,

Wanted to share some good news from India. The Indian Government has approved a path-breaking policy that seeks to make the whole gamut of electronics accessible for people with disabilities.

This news is very close to our hearts for several reasons. It was the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) that first came with the idea of such a policy and even prepared a draft policy for the Ministry of Information Technology to consider. It took almost 5 years but eventually this policy has now become a reality.
