60 +1 GDRL Deployment Sites

July 3, 2012

A total of 61 eGranary Digital Libraries containing the full Global Disability Rights Library (GDRL) collection have now been delivered to 60 selected GDRL deployment sites in 12 countries. Funding support from the United States Agency on International Development (USAID) has enabled the GDRL team to select 60 recipient organizations from more than 430 applicants from around the world.

In addition to these 60 eGranaries, USICD's partner organization, WiderNet Project at the University of Iowa, gifted a second eGranary to the Commission on Human Rights and Good Governance (CHRAGG) in Tanzania. This allows CHRAGG to host an eGranary at both their headquarter office in Dar es Salaam and at their satellite office in Mwanza. "We are impressed with the enthusiasm that the staff of CHRAGG have for their work in promoting human rights and good governance in Tanzania," Cliff Missen, the Director of WiderNet said.

A complete list of all 60 GDRL deployment sites is available at http://usicd.org/index.cfm/gdrl-deployments. A link to each organization's website is provided where available. Additionally, more than 70 other organizations, institutes, and universities have purchased or received an eGranary that includes GDRL collection, bringing vital disability rights information to new audiences around the world.

The application process for free eGranaries under the current contract with USAID is now closed. If you are interested in being notified of future opportunities to apply, please complete a form with your full contact information at http://www.widernet.org/digitallibrary/GDRLSiteSelection/

As always, the on-line counterpart of the GDRL remains available for free at http://gdrl.org.
