OHCHR hosts consultation on the CRPD in Geneva

Open-ended consultation on National Frameworks for the Implementation and Monitoring of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities

Monday 26 October 2009; Geneva, Palais des Nations, Room XII

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) will host an open-ended consultation meeting on National Frameworks for the Implementation and Monitoring of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities on 26 October 2009 in Geneva at the Palais des Nations, Room XII, from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00 hours.

Representatives of States, inter-governmental organizations, national human rights institutions and non-governmental organizations, in particular organizations of persons with disabilities, are invited to participate in the meeting. Please note that advanced registration might be required.

The meeting forms part of the consultation process in preparation of the OHCHR study mandated by the Human Rights Council (res. 10/7) and offers a unique opportunity for a wide range of stakeholders to discuss key aspects and measures to implement article 33 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
